OCU:

Social Security has served us well over the years, as have most of FDR's New Deal programs. Maybe Obama should have considered how and why they were designed and enacted rather than gallop like a horse's ass into Obamacare.

The fact that Republicans are generally regressed and retarded in no way condones Obama's or the Dems' missteps. They're pretty much outdoing the Repubs. The public will vote on that in November.

As one of the diminishing 29%, do you still believe Obama's doing a swell job?

But that was not how the Republicans and the Right-wing media of the day portrayed it or what it was going to do to the country.

I can still remember my Ohio-Republican grandfather cursing virtually everything FDR had ever done, claiming that it was all some Communist plot and that he would never see a penny of that 'Socialist Security' thing.

And you know what, he was right.

He died when he was 64 and never collected a cent, but my grandmother would have been in pretty tough straights if it hadn't been for the benefits which SHE ended-up drawing based on what HE had contributed all those years.
