...so your father was a decent upstanding man who did the right thing for his family whether he was rewarded or not. Sounds like he's a helluva fine man. I bet he hasn't gone thru life with his hand out demanding that someone else take care of him.

My father paid off all of my grandfather's debts, including paying off the mortgage which he had refinanced to pay business expenses. He also paid-off my grandmother's car which was also in the business' name. And he had no obligation to do so since my father had been disinherited and his two sisters reminded him the day of the funeral that he was to get NOTHING, only it turned out that my grandfather died up to his neck in debt and my grandmother was about to lose it all when my dad stepped in, took over the business, paid all the debts and made sure that his mother had a house to live in and a car to drive. And yet his sisters, when it was discovered that my grandfather had had a small life insurance policy worth a couple grand, they made sure that my father never saw a dime of it.
