...he will need help bathing and getting in and out of bed. Nothing his wife can't handle unless she is an invalid. If he has no wife, bring him over to your house and take care of him.

...he will need a thingy to help him put his socks on with.

...don't buy him one of the many expensive and complicated ones. The one pic above is what I had and it worked just fine. The others I refer to as "digital sock putter onners."

...he may need a booster seat to put on the toilet if ya got one of them old fashioned toilets that are lower to the ground than the newer ones. Don't get the potty seat with legs that sits over the toilet. It's like being a bombardier and if ya miss, well he can't clean it up.

...mostly he will not be able to bend any more than ninety degrees at the hips and knees. He will also have to sleep with a pillow between his legs if he is a side sleeper and with his legs elevated if he sleeps on his back. If he sleeps on his belly well he's thru sleeping for awhile.

...after he gets to the point where he can get the cut place wet (shower) he can use a shower chair which can be a really elaborate piece of medical junk or ya could just get him a plastic lawn chair. He will need a shower attachment with a hose if he wants to clean everywhere and he will.

...if I think of anything else, I will let ya know.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

...I went home the day after surgery in the case of both hips. When they get ya to where ya can walk with yer walker they want ya to leave. I didn't need a rehab facility. Mz ribit was there.

...she loved taking care of me.

...they will send therapy folks out to get ya thru ya exercises.

...they did the right leg first but it was the worst and it is behind the left leg in total "rehab" even though it had a six month head start. Oddly I could get my right leg up to tie my shoes better sooner than the left.

...he will need someone to help him bathe and put on and take off these stockings and strap on brace they give ya to wear when ya sleeping. A couple of things ya need.

1. Get him some bedroom slippers. He won't be able to bend to putz with the heels on bedroom shoes without pulling his hip out of the socket.

2. Get him some loafers that don't have to be tied to wear after he gets to dressing.

3. a bath chair. This is the kind I had.

I will finish this up later I gotta go get my grandaughter at school.
