This is interesting in a number of ways.

1. As the number of people ages and naturally drops out of the labor force, this will occur. People are living longer.

2. The Republican neocons should be happy with this statistic because we are returning to one wage earner households which was a highlight of the time before women began to leave homemaking and enter the labor force in mass.

3. This statistic masks those who are still in the labor force but are working for cash under the table and not being reported in the labor statistics. Neocon Republicans should like this because they don't have to pay things like social security matching benefits. This is also known as the cash economy.

4. This statistic does not account for the fact that the elderly and children are not supposed to be a part of the labor force. It also does not account for the number of illegals in this country who are not reported in the labor force that the neocons and their billionaire masters so love to keep employed at low wages with the fear of being turned in if they complain.

5. This figure also reflects the degree of mechanization that is taking more and more jobs as that wonderful term "efficiency" kicks more and more people out of the labor force. We might remember that Jack Welch, the retired and venerated CEO of General Electric, laid off more than 100,000 thousand workers in his 19 years with the company and was given a 400 million dollar bonus when he retired for having done so.

None of the above are the result of liberal policies and are rather, the result of neocons and their masters wrecking the American labor force.

To say that "God exists" is the greatest understatement ever made across space and time.
