...a couple of segments of the documentary covered what happened in the Texas case. The DA in Texas spent all his time proving what durst did to the body after the killing. Durst alleged that it was self defense. In Texas if the defendant alleges self defense, the DA has to prove that it wasn't.

The judge who presided over the Texas trial was interviewed. She blames the failure of the verdict on the prosecutors. She said they were NOT prepared & lost the case.
I can't imagine, losing a murder case in TEXAS after you killed & CUT UP the body & threw it in the river, no matter HOW good your lawyers are.
