…Ayatollah Khomeini and Ronald Reagan and how they made a deal before the 1980 elections that if Iran would hold off freeing the hostages that Reagan would arrange that American made military supplies would be provided to Iran to repair and update their aging fleet of American made fighter jets. The deal sealed Reagan's election, but was technically an act of treason and the Republicans cannot afford for this to come out. At the moment, all of this is not much more than a conspiracy theory but there are documents in Iran that would provide the proof needed to destroy the memory of St. Ronald and the GOP will NOT allow that to happen. And besides, Netanyahu can't let those same documents see the light of day either because it was Israel which acted as the middleman in transferring the American military supplies to Iran.
How would that story play if it were to come out with written proof that it all happened, the United States and Israel delivering arms to Iran in exchange for delaying the release of the hostages so as to undermine the reelection of Jimmy Carter. And here we thought Richard Nixon was a crook, but now there may be evidence that Ronald Reagan was a traitor who had a foreign power, who at the time was seen as our enemy, help corrupt our national election process.
Apparently to some Republicans, this alone is reason enough to want to go to war with Iran in the hopes of destroying once and for all their dirty little secret.
