But he left himself an out. All that the Michigan legislature has to do is include it as an amendment to some critical piece of legislation and he could sign it and still claim that he has kept his promise.

Michigan GOP Guv: I'd Veto Religion Bill

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has been watching Indiana's religious freedom kerfuffle closely and he's taken away a valuable lesson: If such a bill came to his desk, he would veto it immediately, with no discussion. "Given all the events that are happening in Indiana, I thought it would be good to clarify my position," Snyder said. "I would veto RFRA [religious freedom restoration act] legislation in Michigan if it is a standalone piece of legislation."
