Team,

By jove - I think maybe I've got it :-)

I did an uninstall, told it to remove data and everything, then did a new install.

It still opens up a web page - but this time, I didn't already show up with my ID - it gave me the option of folding anonymous or entering my ID and pass code.

That seems to have worked this time. We're setting at the CPU 4.88% complete and the GPU 1.38% with an estimated 80,315 points per day. This is a lot farther than than it got the other day

Now - if I can just get Hollywood back up and running . . . She went back into that "no icons showing up" mode. For a while I didn't do anything about it as I felt like she was at least still folding, but I thing that eventually stopped - so I shut her down before going on vacation. With ArVee's good report on Windows 10 - I may just start fresh with that and a new hard drive - when I get a chance - life has been hectic lately!

Sun :-)

Oh - the website it opens is http://folding.stanford.edu/client/
And I notice when I click on the icon down in my tool tray, the window that pops up give the option of Web Control, Advanced control, or Protein Viewer

Hi Sun glad to hear you got a mini in. When you get the time, yes an uninstall from the Windows Control Panel wouldn't hurt. Off and back on again won't hurt, no current WU to destroy and yes, that's the software I'm referring to but do a machine boot while the software's off too. Doesn't take long. I'm otherwise coming up empty unless it's just plain hardware. If there's nothing further in terms of giving us some info I'm not otherwise Eureka-stricken I'm going to point you toward the geniuses at https://foldingforum.org . They'll want a description and a log file at least as far as it gets, so if there's no progress think of the log while you're there would be my advice. usb stick or whatever.
