Because Ted Cruz has been eating-up his father's radical ideas his entire life while Obama last saw his father when he was only 10 years old (after an absence of more than seven years) and the biggest memories of that event was his father taking him to a jazz concert and giving him a basketball. So if you want to blame the President's love of jazz and basketball on his father, I guess you could make that case, but that's about all the case that you could make in terms of Obama's father's influence on him.
