De,

we will have to just disagree

You are confusing his STATE service as a LAWYER, for the state of Texas and adding that to the couple of years he has served in the Senate, disliked by every mainstream RINO there is...

You guys want to lump someone's work at the state level arguing successfully before the Supreme Court, on behalf of the State, with somehow that makes him a Washington establishment insider.

Personally, I don't understand the reasoning.

But, it is obvious among ardent Trump supporters that no matter the actual record, less than one term as a sitting Senator, somehow makes him an establishment insider person.

I am finished and done with it.

We will simply have to agree to disagree. In the meantime, I have to decide if I can hold my nose long enough to be able to breathe to vote for that stench called Trump.

Reminds me of the school bully who never grew up...

Oh well..

re: " Now, if he was an insider establishment guy as you claim, WHY THEN is he HATED by the establishment he is supposedly a part of?"

It's clear enough how it's possible: It's a mistake in your reasoning.

Cruz clerked for two Republican judges. He worked two different Washington jobs for GWB. He joined a D.C. law firm with clientele throughout the Washington area. Condoleezza Rice introduced him to Heidi. He'd be there still except that GWB's successor in Texas, Rick Perry, appointed him as Texas solicitor general. And then he was back to D.C. again as a Senator.

Quite a few Senators dislike him personally, but only because he went after Mitch McConnell and called him a liar. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have powerful connections with other factions inside the Beltway In fact, one article argues that Cruz couldn't have so many on the Hill personally disliking him if he were an outsider. They dislike him because they've come to know him really well over the years and haven't been impressed.

Cruz is an insider to Washington politics. But "outsider" sounds good to the voters, so he keeps playing the story up.
