Conservatives usually have hearts AND brains. Liberals only have hearts. For that reason, they are often ruled by pity (for others or themselves) but utterly incapable of coming up with a solution.
I remember, years ago, trying to explain the extent of the debt crisis to clo. All she could say when I was done was, "I remain optimistic that someone will figure out a solution."
SHE, obviously, had no solution. But despite my showing her concretely that the situation is hopeless and will NOT be solved, she was unable to override her "hope."
It doesn't take a genius to understand that a $700,000 obligation on the back of every single American will never go away. But clo is no genius. She thinks that the handful of really wealthy people can just pay it down.
Can't hold that against her, I guess. Many liberals are sadly lacking in critical thinking skills. In clo's case, she dropped out of school before she'd even completed her fundamentals. How's she supposed to understand what mathematical certainty means?
