We drove out to the country about halfway across the state to go to an Amish area where they actually make furniture.
We were in the market to replace our 35 year old dining table and chairs. We need more seating capacity on two occasions a year.
But, we wanted a smaller table footprint the rest of the 363 days of the year.
We looked at ROUND tables with single pedestals that can expand by adding multiple 12 inch leaves into when you need more seating.
Found what we wanted and customized it.
A SOLID CHERRY WOOD round table and we ordered matching wooden chairs also in the same cherry wood.
There are no veneers on this furniture. The chairs are Bow style backs. I ordered TWO leaves that go with the table.
Will take 3 months to build the table and chairs.
I can't wait to see the set when its done...
Now I can seat eight people comfortably around this table and we have other seating available when we have 11 family members here.
Nice craftsmanship and will last forever.... A family heirloom for the kids....
Now I need to look for a home for the Maple small buffet and hutch that is still in perfect condition...
It was a nice day for a drive out there and happy to buy some quality furniture at what I thought was a very excellent price...
Now we are looking at TILE for the main bath remodel job, putting in a walk in shower with glass door and replacing the tub/shower combo. Getting too old to climb over and into a TUB just to take a shower. No tub required.
We got the new floor tile for the bathroom. Now need to get the wall tile for the shower and for the shower base and bench....
Having some fun with my mrs. and making her happy.....
After this, we do the flooring in the main areas of the house. Convert from carpeting to hardwood and a tiled kitchen floor..
Never ending.
