‘Responsible Gun Owner’ Shoots Daughter Dead, Tries To Blame It On Her 5-Year-Old Brother (VIDEO)

“It was a stupid, idiotic act,” Capt. James Clark told reporters when asked about the fatal shooting of Tahirah Phillips by her father, Maurice. “He was completely reckless in doing this and, unfortunately, a 4-year-old lost her life.”
6ABC reports the fatal shooting occurred on April 16 in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood:
Police say Tahirah was in a bedroom with her six siblings, ranging in age from 13 to 7 months old, when Phillips – who is the father of five of the children – came into the room.
He took out the gun and started playing with it and waving it around, according to investigators, and the gun went off. The bullet hit Tahirah in the head, killing her instantly.
And what did Maurice Phillips do next? He doubled down on his callous idiocy by trying to pin the blame on the dead girl’s 5-year-old brother.
After the shooting, police say Phillips got off the bed and hit one of the children, a five-year-old, in the face with a closed fist and wiped blood from his hand onto her shirt, in an apparent effort to make it look as if the child was responsible.
As neighbors learned of Tahira Phillips’ tragic shooting death, they gathered outside of the family’s home for an impromptu memorial. Rachel Santana told 6ABC the mother was distraught:
