It took 8 days for this administration to create a constitutional crisis. 8 days.

The folks at Customs are going to regret ignoring the law.

And so much for the folks who claimed to be devoted to the Constitution. It's a bit quiet where those people are concerned.

So what principles are under attack?

Only the two Magna Carta pillars, without which there would be no US Constitution:

1. Habeas Corpus

2. The executive branch is subject to law

If the courts tell the executive it cannot detain legal residents and others from passing through customs and the administration fails to submit to their rulings, you have a collapse of those two pillars. There's no liberty without the rule of law.

The Republican president has adopted arbitrary power as his modus operandi. And his party's response is at best passive.

How long before a constitutional argument becomes a test of strength.
