Professor
that is a wonderful Psalm.

Yes, those who have been washed in the blood of the LAMB have had their sins washed and removed as far as the east is from the west.

That said, that is also dependant on whether we confess our sins with a contrite and sincere heart, and if we do, HE is faithful and JUST to forgive us our sins (we confess), and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness."

I John 1: 9

For we shall ALL stand before the judgment Seat of Christ to give account of those things we have done. whether they be be of wood, hay, or stubble. They will be tried by fire.

Lay ye up therefore TREASURES in Heaven where moth and rust do not decay.

A couple points to be made.

1. Do believers still sin after they have received Christ as Savior?

YES THEY DO. THIS is why HE gave us 1 John to read and to know that we need to come to him for DAILY CLEANSING so that we do not LOSE our FELLOWSHIP and INTIMACY with HIM. We do not lose our SONSHIP because of sin after salvation, but we can and often do o=lose our ability to have fellowship because that unconfessed and forsaken sin has not been confessed and repented of to HIM.

Old saying that Christians are not perfect (or sinless), just forgiven, is reasonably close, but NOT TRUE. We were forgiven when we came to HIM for SALVATION and repented and asked forgiveness and salvation.

GOD is HOLY and because HE is HOLY, HE cannot have fellowship with someone who has SIN covering himself thathas not been washed and cleansed by the BLOOD.

So we have lost our fellowship with a righteous and HOly GOD because we have become DIRTY and REQUUIRE a BATH in the blood to clean us up so that we may once again enjoy the joy of being GOD's children and have close fellowship with him.

Mind that our sin does not keep us from gaining heaven after we have been genuinely saved.

Your works (actions) will testify of whether you were really saved or not, but your unconfessed sins we all commit will keep us from having fellowship with God and also from HIM hearing or answering our prayers.

GOD IS HOLY. HEAVEN is a HOLY PLACE. SIN cannot enter into Heaven. THAT is why we will enter and be given a new and sinless body that will last an eternity.

Oh I could go on and on but the point is that we as believers sin constantly and do not even know it. Sins of OMISSION and sins of COMMISSION. NOT doing someting you know you are to do and commanded to do is a sin of omission. Still sin and still needs confessed and cleansing by the blood.

ACTS of commission are same way.

Unconfessed sins keep us from having ANY fellowship with a HOLY GOD because HE is SINLESS and HOLY and we are tainted with sin.

God cannot look upon nor have fellowship with SIN.

FOR THIS REASON, HE turned HIS BACK on HIS SON at CALVARY because Jesus became SIN by taking ALL our sins upon himself and God the FATHER could NOT LOOK UPON it because of HIS HOLINESS.

Lots to talk about but this was good. I am very glad you brought this up. Hope my small little off the cuff remarks were helpful.....

Fortunately, for the righteous - a big eraser is at work.

PSALM 103

1 {A Psalm of David.} Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.
