Good Evening Clo!

I'm a Yankee fan, of course, and Steinbrenner broke the cardinal rule of messing with Yogi. That's unforgivable.

I had not heard that George was a germaphobic.
Roy Cohn was a notorious sleaze bucket with some tender issues who made his mark working for Senator Joseph McCarthy. A real psychotic piece of crap.

I have heard some hillariousd stories about Trump freaking out from cigarette butts in his parking lots and funny stuff like that. I guess I have always assumed that a putz who focuses on minutiae is a bit twisted.

Crapping on people that work for you is absurd on many levels. When you run a family business you often spend more time with your employees than you do with your family.

It seems that treating other people properly is usually a sing of character.

Keep in mind Matt Lewis is a Republican.

Damn Crankies: Donald Trump Is the New George Steinbrenner

Domineering bosses who love to foster unease. Who live and die by tabloid culture. Who take no prisoners. And both of them clean freaks to boot. Convinced? Reassured?

The Trump White House is a chaotic mish-mash of rivals held together by a larger-than-life domineering boss who fosters a sense of unease. This was what life was like during George Steinbrenner’s tenure as owner of the New York Yankees.

If this sounds like a crazy thought, New York Post columnist Steve Serby recently asked Brian Cashman (the Yankees general manager since 199Cool about the comparison. “They do it their way, and take no prisoners. I think they’re very similar,” he said.

Both men were born of immigrant mothers, and both grew up under fathers who had built up the family fortune. And if both men had authoritarian tendencies, it might be because they shared the same sort of tough-guy heroes. Back in 2002, The New Yorker observed that “Steinbrenner’s hero is George Patton.” Trump’s mentor, Manhattan attorney Roy Cohn, was also a counselor to (and friend of) Steinbrenner.
