For the last couple of days/weeks I have been putzing with the notion of changing my ISP. Made calls, visited the websites, did all my homework. My reason for wanting to change is because of a persistent trouble with the internet just freezing up on all computers and anything else working over the net. Checked everything on the computers found nothing. Checked modem, found nothing. Called repair svc and got worked with them on three different occasions and worked with people who learned to speak English yesterday. One of em sold me a new modem promising that it was the problem. Not so.
...anyway I replaced everything it could possibly be except my ISP so I told mz ribit I wanted to try that. She took control then making the same calls that I had already made and getting totally different answers than I got. She decided that we needed the super dooper doo doo scooper internet speed. I can download the entire internet in about half a minute now.
...but I digress. We bought the new service and I went and picked up a modem / router at the computer store and spent all evening hooking up everything. It all works great now. My computer which would not update itself under my old isp updated just fine. It moves about faster and all that, and I can keep my old email id's. But I needed an id for my new isp and they asked me what I would like. I asked if ribit was available. "Jess, Jess it ib!" the lady says. That's r as in romeo, I as in india, b as in bravo, I as in india and t as in tequila? "Jess Jess". Ok, set it up for me. My new email id is RIVIT. I shoulda known. My new isp has two classes of employees, idiots and non English speakers. My old isp has only one class. They are idiots who do not speak English.
I should fricken knowed it.
