I got my Comcast Internet in and working so I called AT&T to disconnect my old service dsl service. Everybody I talked to tried to talk me into staying with them and perhaps even buying more service. I told em that if they had shown as much interest in getting my dsl line fixed as they was in selling me something else I would not be leaving them. I spent three hours on the phone trying to get orders issued and I got a confidence rating of about 13% that they won't "F" it up somehow. They were even offering me fibre optic service. I told em there aren't any fibre optic cables out here. They said it's copper from my house to the node and fibre optic from there to the central office. I splained to them that my dsl service deteriorated starting almost simultaneously with the appearance of availability of fiber optic. Could the piss poor service be a sales scam of some sort? Nah, not wif old ma bell.
...somehow or another every time I get off the phone with them I am reminded of Lily Tomlin.
