They actually are quite comfortable. Unlike a standard recliner, with these you have INFINITE adjustability as to degree of angle of recline or to let it help stand you up on your feet. Or you can lay perfectly flat and sleep in it. I am strongly considering bringing one home to my house as I have an arthritic lower spine which sometimes gives me fits...
