it is kind of difficult to abuse something when it is NOT readily available at just about any corner.

That's the problem with all the places that are springing up like wildfire selling pot.

They can claim it is for medical use only all they want. Problem with it is that when someone startes using it they become impaired and then are a danger to other people when actually believing they can then drive a car, go shoot some rounds, almost anything....

It is the EASY ACCESS to POT HEADS that is the problem, not that the substance cannot be used to help someone, but their has to be restrictions to protect the rest of us out there so I do not have a repeat meeting with a stoned marijuana using driver.

"Oh honest officer, I only took it for medical use",

So how many people are going to have to get hurt from the impaired driving before we actually control this crap???

Right now it is too easy for recreational junkies to just go buy to get their daily high.....

Of course they do. But so do people who drink. Even people who rarely drink.

It's not the marijuana or the alcohol (or the gun, for that matter) that kills. It's the person. The vast majority of people who use any of the above are responsible enough to make sure they don't endanger other people when they do so. It is for these people, the responsible majority, that these things are legal. America is supposed to be the land of the free, after all, and my right to swing my fist should be absolute until it intersects with your face. And then I should lose my rights and go to jail.

The bottom line is that irresponsible people like clo's son who drive while impaired belong in jail. It's substance ABUSE that should be illegal, not substance USE.
