30 dead as gunmen disguised as doctors attack hospital in Afghan capital

The attack set off clashes with security forces that continued for hours, with some patients climbing out of the building and sheltering on window ledges. An Afghan official told NBC News that the victims included civilians, medical staff and soldiers. The hospital is located near the U.S. Embassy in Kabul.
