We drove to Blacksburg yesterday, the home of Virginia Tech about 4.5 hours away, to see our son perform in the All Virginia Mixed choir. He's the only senior in his school to have qualified a second time (only Juniors and Seniors are eligible.) They sang some beautiful songs like this piece...
...but Joey didn't care for the conductor at all. He considers her arrogant and incompetent, in fact, and felt her music selection wasn't very challenging.
That said, after the concert some of the kids gathered around the piano in their practice room and killed time with impromptu performances. I wish I'd recorded the whole thing. This is "Satisfied" from the musical Hamilton.
