Personally, I think it is entirely comparable.
It's more-or-less exactly what we heard when Murdoch talked about his own newspapers and television channels. He told his editors what he wanted.
I doubt that your NY Times is pristine in this respect. You are given the news and particularly the opinions the newspaper owners wish you to hear.
I'll also say that it is exactly the same in this country. You need to filter out the proprietorial bias to figure much of anything out.
Not that the Musk anything goes idea works either.
